What does the course include

The lessons in this course will help you create your own beautiful albums, filled with energy of the events in your life. Moving from simple to complicated we’ll go into the detailed process of creating albums. They will be of different sizes with different covers made of fabric and faux leather with decoration from simple words up to different shakers with multi-layered details.

You’ll learn how to make binding with the cords which is the most solid and nice for such albums. You’ll get to know the characteristics of different stuff and learn how to choose it according to your needs. We are going to make different tailbands and try several covers – hard covers and soft covers. You’ll see the difference between the soft and hard backbone. You’ll also learn how to decorate the covers.

There are five albums in this course:

  • Basic album made of ministoff with embedded signature on the cover;
  • Sea album with golden rim and fitting on the backbone;
  • Mini-album in fabric cover with colourful arrangement;
  • Children album with faux leather cover and a rainbow;
  • Wedding album with suede cloth cover and a heart-shaped shaker.
This course includes five albums. I wanted to show you how different and unique they can be.

What you will need

You don’t need a cutting or sewing machine to make these albums. But if you do have them I’ll show you some useful hints. Also the course includes files for the cutting machine to make the work easier.

You’ll need the basic minimum of the instruments: cutting mat, utility knife, metal ruler, scoring tool or board, scissors,  needles and cotton. I use Tacky Glue Original but any of this kind will do.

For the album 20х20 cm you’ll need paper 250-350 gr/m2 for the inner pad size 204х194 mm, with total 20 to 40 sheets. You’ll also need 2 sheets of scrapbooking paper for the flyleaf and 2 sheets of cardboard and fabric for the cover.

All the other materials and instruments can be substituted. I’ll show how you can do this using simpler stuff. So don’t rush to the shop to buy the materials for the course unless you’ve seen the first videos. There are many important details there.

You’ll need from 8 to 12 hours for one album depending on the experience and the complexity of the cover.

This course is good both for beginners and experienced people. Videos show the process from the scratch including how to cut cardboard and make scoring lines.

You’ll get unlimited access to the course immediately after the payment. You can rewatch all the videos anytime you like using Internet connection. This course also includes feedback. You can ask questions under each video and I’ll answer in 1-2 two weekdays.
